About Jessica Bachman

I am a PhD Candidate in the History Department at the University of Washington. My dissertation considers the history of the Soviet Union's Progress Publishers (once the largest publishing house in the world) and its expansion into India's book markets during the Cold War. Prior to grad school, I worked as a journalist for Thomson Reuters. I am interested in cultural studies, book history, the history of Soviet-Third World engagements, South Asian history and art history.
