About Philip Blood

Is a British historian residing in Germany. Previously senior fellow at the American Academy in Berlin, was a military history advisor to the Association of the US Army Book Program, and senior lecturer as RWTH-Aachen (Technical University). Previous held lecturer positions at Surrey University and London University. Published two books: Hitler’s Bandit Hunters (2008), Birds Of Prey (2021), Putin’s War - Russian Genocide (expected July 2023) and has a new book in progress about Aachen in the age of total war. His PhD was from Royal Military College of Science in UK in 2001. His fields of research are military culture, war and the Holocaust/genocide. Has andditional interests in: German history, American history, and Transport/industrial history. Pastimes include leading battlefield tours and promoting public engagement with history.
