About Steven Rodriguez

Steven P. Rodríguez is a fourth year PhD candidate in history who is interested in the history of international education and Latin American student migration. His dissertation will try to understand the role of Latin America, and Cuba more specifically, in the construction of the system of US-dominated global governance that emerged following the Second World War. His broad interests include US empire, legal history, the history of higher education in the US, and global history. After earning a BA in history and philosophy at The College of New Jersey, Steven completed an MA at Brandeis University where he wrote a thesis titled “Intervention by Other Means: The U.S., Cuba, and the Rockefeller Foundation International Health Division, 1929-1946.” Steven also holds an MA in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language from the University of Alcalá (Madrid, Spain).
