Proust Questionnaire 11: Youssef Nabil, Artist

Summary

Youssef Nabil is a photographer and filmmaker who combines the artistic and cultural traditions of his native Egypt and his adopted homes of New York City and Paris to create exquisitely conceived images. An example of this, is his last film I Saved My Belly Dancer (2015) with Salma Hayek and Tahar Rahim. By blending Occident and Orient in mutually empowering ways, Nabil’s photographs and films open our eyes to a forward-looking global vista where we can see ourselves reflected and improved.
