Dr. Glenn Packiam offers an excellent study of how hope is espoused, encoded, and experienced in Christian songs and gatherings. Analyzing original ethnographic research and utilizing an interdisciplinary set of tools to allow for mutual interpretation of practice and theory, Packiam presents readers with both a model of practical theology as well as keen insights and valuable conclusions for church leaders. This book makes a much needed contribution to the emerging field of contemporary worship and liturgical literature.
