About Shailza Sharma

I am a PhD candidate at the University of Exeter, UK. My thesis looks at women's participation in social movements of the left in India. I am also a lawyer by training and run an online platform called Detention Solidarity (https://detentionsolidarity.ne...), which critically engages with the structures and experiences of detention that constitute the carceral state in India. I am broadly interested in law, gender, and society.
