About Kelsey Brosnan

I am a writer and art historian specializing in eighteenth- and nineteenth-century French

paintings, works on paper, and decorative arts. I teach at the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn and write for the Impressionist and Modern Art Evening Sale at Chrsitie's Auction House. I earned my PhD from the Art History Department of Rutgers University in 2018 with a dissertation entitled "Seductive Surfaces: The Still Life Paintings of Anne Vallayer-Coster (1744–1818)." This research will be published in book form by Lund Humphries and Getty Publications in May 2026.
