Abigail E. Celis is an assistant professor in Art History and Museum Studies at the Université de Montréal (Tiohtià:ke/Mooniyang) and received her PhD in French and Francophone Studies from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. Her research examines the afterlives of colonialism as witnessed through contemporary Francophone visual culture and museum practice, and on the decolonial imaginaries of diasporic artists. Her research practice includes curation, creative collaborations, and scholarly publications, and she has received several awards and grants for her research and writing.
