About Blain Neufeld

Blain Neufeld is a professor of philosophy at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee (UWM). He primarily works on topics in contemporary political philosophy, including a variety of issues having to do with public reason, political autonomy, and liberal egalitarianism. His book, _Public Reason and Political Autonomy_ (Routledge), was published in 2022. He currently is co-editing two volumes on the philosophy of John Rawls for Oxford University Press, one of which is the _Oxford Handbook to the Philosophy of John Rawls_. He grew up in London (the one in Ontario, Canada, not the original one in England). He previously taught at Stanford University (in the "Introduction to the Humanities" program) and Trinity College Dublin (Department of Philosophy) before joining UWM in 2008. He served as the Chair of the UWM Department of Philosophy from 2018 to 2021. When not teaching at UWM, he spends most of his time in Canada, where his wife and dog live.
