About Christopher Harrison

I am originally from the British Isles -- so, Britain and Ireland -- and became a US citizen in 2015. I research genocidal warfare and the policies of recruiting perpetrators and capturing victims in both historical and contemporary cases. My work points to suggestions for how recruitment reforms can prohibit certain governments from carrying out these types of genocidal methods again. The many millions of refugees that flee from destructively oppressive militaries and states are only one of a number of outcomes that emerge from genocidal conscription. I am interested in living a sustainable life as best as is possible to do so and enjoy the outdoor lifestyle here in northern Arizona. I have most definitely become Americanized as I am now learning how to hunt from members of the responsible and conservation-minded communities up here by the Grand Canyon. My career in college instruction continues to grow in positive ways and I am fortunate to be able to make a positive difference in the lives of my students.

Christopher Harrison teaches at Northern Arizona University. HIs research concerns genocidal warfare and the policies of recruiting perpetrators and capturing victims in both historical and contemporary cases.
