Sean T. Byrnes is a writer, teacher, and historian who lives in middle Tennessee. He is the author of Disunited Nations: US Foreign Policy, Anti-Americanism, and the Rise of the New Right, from LSU Press. He’s currently working on two books. One under contract with Bloomsbury entitled "The United States and the Ends of Empire: Decolonization, Hierarchy, and World Order since 1776" and another with LSU entitled "No Guarantee: The Family Assistance Plan and the Transformation of American Politics, 1968-1972". In addition to hosting with the New Books Network his work has also appeared in Jacobin and International Journal.
