About Gerry Milligan

Gerry Milligan is Professor of Italian at the College of Staten Island, where he serves as Director of Honors. He is Professor in Italian and Global Early Modern Studies at the CUNY Graduate Center. His research focuses on gender identity in Italian Renaissance literature. His books include Moral Combat: Women, Gender, and War in Italian Renaissance Literature (Toronto UP: 2018) and a co-edited volume with Jane Tylus, The Poetics of Masculinity in Early Modern Italy and Spain (CRRS: 2010).
