About Anya Daly
Anya is Senior Lecturer in Philosophy and Ethics in the School of Humanities, University of Tasmania. Interdisciplinary collaborations are at the core of Anya’s research interests. She investigates the intersections of phenomenology with philosophy of mind, the philosophy of perception, the philosophy of psychiatry, embodied and social cognition, enactivism, ethics, aesthetics and Buddhist Philosophy. Anya spent five years researching and teaching in France (2005-2010) under the supervision of Professor Renaud Barbaras. Anya completed a double-badged doctorate (en-cotutelle) between Université de Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne et University of Melbourne in December 2012. She spent two years in Dublin at University College Dublin under the mentorship of Professor Dermot Moran, on an Irish Research Council Fellowship (2016-2018). Anya has received funding from national and international institutions to support her research projects and also to facilitate the dissemination of her own work and the work of others through publications, organising workshops and conferences. Notable among these was The Inhuman Gaze, a three-day multi-disciplinary international conference spanning the disciplines of philosophy, cognitive neuroscience, psychiatry, psychology, sociology and aesthetics, which was hosted in Paris 2018 - https://theinhumangaze.com/.
