About Yizhou Sun

Prior to joining Free University of Berlin as Ph.D candidate, I studied continental philosophy, social theory and aesthetics at Fudan University, Shanghai. My research focuses on intellectual history and social philosophy from fin-de-siecle to the interwar period. I also dabble in contemporary thought and theoretical sociology. Besides several translations from German and English into Chinese-Mandarin and academical papers, I'm also a columnist. My articles and reviews have appeared in publications such as The Paper: Shanghai Review of the Books, The Economic Observer: Book Review Weekly. My omnibus about intellectual biography The Kiss of Maecenas will presumably publish by Shanghai Literature & Art Publishing House in the end of this year.
