Hello, I am currently a PhD. Candidate in History finishing up my dissertation (on postwar publishing houses) this summer in European history. I work primarily in cultural and intellectual history with an eye to French, German, Italian, and Czech subjects, including east-west cultural transfers, and the history of the book in Europe. I am an archival nut with a keen interest in historiography, particularly with an eye to the divisions between literature and historical writing. I have also benefited from a peripatetic education in literary studies and history in the US, Britain, France, and Germany. It's very important for me as a scholar and colleague to help publicize (in the US) the work of scholars written in other languages besides English.
Please note that I've inquired about hosting before and received a lovely response from Professor Poe. At that time, however, I was unable to take on further responsibilities. I should have more time in the future, ideally taking on 1-3 interviews per year. This may not be frequent enough for the NBN, however.
I did recently complete one interview with the NBN in mind and hope this might be a good trial run. Naturally, I'd be happy to discuss this work and future projects if all this sounds of interest!
