About Paul Werth

I am a professor of history at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. In the past I have published on matters of religion, empire, and ethnic diversity in the Russian Empire, with small forays into periods earlier and later. I recently released a wide-ranging book on the year 1837 in Russia. which proposes that the country experienced a "quiet revolution" then. I am currently working on projects considered with the scope of Russian/Soviet territory and the country's border—the longest in the world. I teach broadly in the history of Europe, Eurasia, and a tad bit in the US and Iran. I feel as though I should know much more about classical antiquity and environmental issues, including history—might be things worth exploring.
