About Alyssa Kee

I am a Masters student on the Erasmus Mundus 4CITIES Master of Science in Urban Studies programme, which explores different approaches to the urban, from architecture to political economy. Having evaluated Singapore's policy shift from a Garden City to a City in Nature for my undergraduate dissertation at Cambridge University, I am interested in work to do with urban nature(s). My current work thus focuses on analysing the food relations that emerge from community urban farms in Vienna and Singapore using actor-network theory and a new materialist approach. These research areas have helped me develop an especially strong interest in socio-political narratives and the ways in which knowledge travels and becomes established in place - concepts which are central to the work at the New Books Network. Should I be accepted, I would be honoured to be a part of this work as a host and would strive to draw from my own experiences and learning to facilitate meaningful and thought-provoking discussions.
