About Caroline Alt

Hi all! I am a first-year PhD student at the University of Georgia and I study the hauntings of the American South. My research aims to review ghost stories as self-reflected, self-told histories that, when considered properly, reveal the region’s social anxieties today. Prior to attending the University of Georgia, I spent four years in Washington D.C. working as a Digital Strategist for the Center for American Progress and CAP Action. I also have a background in music criticism and analysis with work in Swim Into the Sound and Portable Model.
