About Karishma Koshal

I am a first-year PhD researcher in English literature and publishing at the University of Exeter. In the past, I have been immersed in the South Asian publishing industry, and have observed it from different vantage points, including a research publishing platform, a trade publisher, and a news magazine. I am interested in analysing the absence of knowledge exchanges in the Indian subcontinent and their impact on community practices, narratives, and artistic traditions. I am also interested in investigating the diminishing creative and cultural freedoms amidst rising Hindu majoritarianism. I enjoy reading South Asian literature, women's writing and nature writing.
