Michelle Newhart is an adjunct professor in sociology at the University of La Verne and Mt. San Antonio College in southern California. Her recent books include The Medicalization of Marijuana: Legitimacy, Stigma, and the Patient Experience and the textbook Understanding Research Methods: An Overview of the Essentials.
