Yue Wu received her PhD in East Asian Languages and Civilizations from Arizona State University. She studies the literature, history, and culture of early medieval China, asking how people make sense of the past when their worlds come apart. Her broader research explores how competing accounts of the past become authoritative history, bringing excavated epitaphs into conversation with literary and historical texts.
