About Zoya Sameen

I am a Postdoctoral Teaching Fellow in the Department of History at the University of Chicago where I primarily teach for the Center for the Study of Gender and Sexuality and the Department of Race, Diaspora, and Indigeneity. As a historian, my research and teaching interests include nineteenth- and twentieth-century South Asia, gender and law in the British Empire, comparative and transnational gender history, colonialism, decolonization, and violence, and concepts and problems in the study of gender and sexuality. My work cuts across the Women's History, South Asian Studies, and British Studies channels on NBN.
