About Shobhana Xavier

I am a religious studies professor based in/between Kingston and Toronto (Turtle Island/Canada). I am interested in Islamic and religious studies broadly, but I think and write on Sufism, especially in North America and South Asia (Sri Lanka). I also teach courses on race and religion, religion and popular culture, gender and religion, ethnography, and Islam.

Shobhana Xavier is an Associate Professor of Religious Studies at Queen’s University. More details about her research and scholarship may be found here. She may be reached at shobhana.xavier@queensu.ca.
