About Aleem Mahabir

Aleem Mahabir is a PhD candidate in Geography at the University of the West Indies, Mona, Jamaica. His research interests lie at the intersection of Urban Geography, Social Exclusion and Psychology. His dissertation research focuses on the link among psychosocial dispositions, exclusion and under-development among marginalized populations in Caribbean cities, with a focus on Port of Spain, Trinidad. Although his primary interests pertain to Urban Geography, he has previously engaged in interdisciplinary work in a number of research areas broadly related to Inequality, Injustice, Food Insecurity, Environmental Sustainability, Tourism, Criminology, and Caribbean Studies.
