Hi everyone, I am Assistant Professor of German at Wayne State University. My work focuses on contemporary German literature, the intersection of human rights and literature, and intercultural approaches to literature. I write about minoritized and racialized people within Germany and about patterns of exclusion in German society. My second research area is in pedagogy, second language acquisition, social justice pedagogy, intercultural competence, and alternative assessment. All of this comes together in a common thread of thinking about justice and inclusive communities, both in the literary sphere and in our classrooms.
