About Yadong Li

I am a PhD student in socio-cultural anthropology. My current research interests lie at the intersection of environmental anthropology, medical anthropology, hope studies, and time studies. My current ethnographic project focuses on a town named Taole (陶乐) in Northwest China, which is a former county seat, a place on multiple thresholds, and a space with twisted temporalities, promises, and hopes. I have also written about urban legends, moral panic, and UFO enthusiasts in China. If you are interested in my research and also, (the anthropology of) food, please feel free to contact me via email.
Yadong Li is a PhD student in socio-cultural anthropology at the Tulane University of Louisiana. He is interested in the anthropology of time, hope studies, threshold, and post-structuralist philosophy. Please feel free to contact him by email: yli88@tulane.edu / lydooooong@gmail.com.
